How to crop the margins of a PDF

Scanned documents often come out with wide, uneven margins around the actual content, a slide deck exported to PDF can leave a border of dead space, and a form with a tall letterhead can waste a third of the page. Cropping trims that away without touching the content itself.

Step by step

  1. Open Crop PDF Pages and add your file, the first page renders as a preview.
  2. Drag the corner handles to draw a box around the area you want to keep.
  3. Click "Crop PDF" to download the result.

A few practical tips

  • The crop is proportional across every page. Whatever area you select on the first page is applied as the same relative region on every other page, so it works even if the document is long, as long as all pages share the same layout.
  • If your pages are different sizes, the crop scales to match each one, so you don't need a uniform document to use this.
  • Cropping changes the page size, not the content's scale. If you actually want to shrink or enlarge pages onto a different paper size, that's Resize PDF Pages instead.
